Kolding's oldest gable house dates from 1589.

Until 1915, mainly shoemakers lived in the house.

In 1937, Kolding Municipality took over the house, and an office was set up for Kolding Tourist Office.

Today it is lent to art exhibitions and the like.

Every year in December, Santa Claus lives in the house where the town's nice children can come with their Christmas socks. That is why it has received the nickname "Santa's House".
