Until 1971 there was a dyehouse and dry-cleaning plant here.

It was one of Kolding's oldest companies, established in 1671.

After the clothes had been dyed in the large pit boilers, the clothes had to go through the twisting machine, from where water and dye were led directly to the river. People in the town could always see from the water in the creek what color had been used on that day.

In 1971, the dyehouse and dry cleaning closed. Since then, the building has first housed a clothing store, later Sønderbro Pharmacy and now (2024) a shop with handicrafts.
