In the 1860s, Kolding Å together with Kongeåen formed the border between Denmark and the Duchy of Schleswig.

The bridge was called Sønderbro, and it was here that the customs office was.

For centuries, the bridge was made of wood. It was not until 1808 that the vaulted granite bridge was built. In 1984, Kolding Municipality restored the bridge and restored it to its original shape.

For the road surface of the miniature city model, about 5000 small cobblestones were used.

If you look closely, you can see that Frederik the 6th's monogram and the year 1808 are carved into the bridge arch.
